A huge thankyou to everyone who supported the 2006 MIFB
including volunteers, performers, venues, music shops, sponsors and many
many others. In particular we would like to acknowledge our
organising team. Paul Evans, Hannah Hookey, Kathy Davis, Tim Kelly,
Veronica Ryan, Sarah Nottle and Paul Williamson who put together what
many people are saying was the best big band ever heard in
Australia.Without this group of people the 2006 MIFB would not
have been possible. This year we again gathered together some of
the most extraordinary brass players in the world. Bobby Shew, Sergio
Carolino, Rex Richardson, Hugh Seenan, Randall Hawes as well as the many
amazing Australian performers. We now look forward to planning the

to grow and inspire more and more people. You can find our contact
emails on the Contact tab on the home page, we look forward to hearing
from you.Geoff, Michael and John

Dear Friends, Supporters and Colleagues,After seven years of MIFB (2003 – 2009) I have decided to resign as Director of the Melbourne International Festival of Brass. It has been a great journey for me and I have learnt many lessons along the way, however I feel the time is right for me to move on and dedicate more time to other projects and my beautiful family.I would like to thank the MIFB volunteers for their dedication and commitment to this festival over the years. To Geoff and John, thanks for the memorable times we have had in running this great festival, I have many fond memories and am proud of what we were able to create.Thankyou to all our supporters for making MIFB what it is today. I know that your ongoing support will continue to make MIFB even better in years to come. I look forward to joining you all in the audience and as guest artist at MIFB 2010.Michael Bertoncello
